EDUCATIONAL PROJECT (INEP)

Introduction

The IGNOU-Navy Educational Project (INEP) came into force with signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IGNOU and the Indian Navy on 23 September 2000. The project has been envisaged to help Naval personnel and their dependants to enhance their academic qualification through self-learning oriented system, developed and executed by IGNOU. This Project brings the educational facilities closer to the place of work and residence, under a ‘Single Window System’. All Officers, Sailors and their dependents can enroll in this project. The dependents can be enrolled on submission of a ‘Dependency Certificate’.

• Certificate in Information Technology (CIT)

• Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP)

Regional Centres

Under INEP, there are four Regional Centres functioning at New Delhi, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam and Kochi. At Delhi, DNE is the Regional Director and in Commands, Command Education Officers (CEdOs) are the Regional Directors.
