DELHI

The Administrative Officer is located in Nausena Baugh I. The Officer – in – Charge, Nausena Baugh I & II deals with all matters relating to Sailors residing in the above areas. Problems concerning accommodation, security, maintenance, cleanship, shopping etc. are dealt with in this Office.

Administrative Setup – To administer the Naval estate and to maintain it in a reasonable state of cleanliness and habitability, an administrative setup under the Officer – in – Charge, functions from its Office located within Nausena Baugh I, thus ensuring easy access to the residents to sort out their problems. It is the endeavor of the administration to improve the quality of life of the residents, which can be possible only with the active participation and cooperation of the residents.

AccommodationApplication forms for Officers married accommodation are to be submitted to the Chief Administrative Officer, Ministry Of Defence, C – II Hutments, Dalhousie Road, New Delhi – 11. In the case of MLR Sailors the application to place name on MAR is submitted to the Accommodation Officer at the Accommodation Office NSB I, Chanakyapuri, after the request has been granted in INS India. In-living Officers and Sailors are to report to Kotah House Mess and SS Complex, NSB I respectively.

Handing Over/Taking Over of Quarters – While handing over the quarters the various inventories are shown to the allottee. All the defects of the quarters are also recorded in the presence of the allottee and his signature is obtained. While vacating the quarter, damages, if any, are to be born by the allottee. In case of NIL damage, a NIL damage certificate is issued to the Sailor by the Accommodation Office. The barrack damage money collected is utilised to make good the damages as far as possible before the new allottee takes over the quarter.

Timings – Accommodation Office at NSB I deals with all matters relating to Sailors Accommodation. The Office works from Monday to Friday from 0900 to 1730 hrs. Issue timings of various forms, collection of Subscription etc. is as under:-

(a) Issue of forms for family passes ( 0900 – 1200 hrs)

guest forms and sharing forms etc. ( 1400 – 1600 hrs)

(b) Collection of Block Subscription (1st to 10th )

(i) CPOs and above (0900 – 1200 hrs):- @ Rs. 25/- per month (1400 – 1600 hrs )

(ii) POs and below (0900 – 1200 hrs):- @ Rs. 25/- per month (1400 – 1600 hrs)

    (c) Collection of Sharing Money

(i) CPOs and above (0900 – 1200 hrs):- @ Rs. 25/- per month (1400 – 1600 hrs )

(ii) POs and below (0900 – 1200 hrs):- @ Rs. 25/- per month (1400 – 1600 hrs)

MUMBAI

Administrative Office is located in Navy Nagar Colaba, Mumbai-5. Chief Administrator Naval Area Colaba (CANAC) is dealing with all matters relating to sailors residing in Navy Nagar. Problems concerning accommodation, security, maintenance, cleanship/shopping etc. are being dealt in his office.

Navy Nagar (SMQ) Residents. The Naval Estate comprising of 262.5 acres of land caters to the married accommodation of officers and sailors (1175 Qtrs. For officers & 4242 for sailors) and also other facilities comparable to that of a mini township. The sole aim of the administration is to improve the quality of life of the residents of Navy Nagar and NOFRA.

Administrative Set-Up. To administer this vast estate and to maintain it in a reasonable state of cleanliness and habitability, and administrative set-up under Chief Administrator, Naval Area, Colaba (CANAC) is functioning from its office located in the vicinity of MAKAR building, thus ensuring easy access to the residents of SMQ and Navy Nagar to sort out their problems. It is an endeavor of the administration to improve the quality of life of the residents, which can be possible only with the active participation and co-operation of the residents.

Maintenance Cell. Complaints regarding water, electricity and other defects are to be entered in appropriate registers kept near the gate of the Administrative Office. Every Tuesday, fused bulbs can be exchanged, between 1400 hrs to 1630 hrs.

Furniture Cell. Old and unserviceable furniture is deposited on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays from 0900 to 1230 hrs and 1400 hrs to 1630 hrs. Issue of new furniture is made on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1400 hrs to 1630 hrs.

Naval Provost Arrangements. There are two Naval Police Stations in Navy Nagar. One is on the ground floor of Mesh building (Telephone No 2152370) and second one on the ground floor of R/29 building (Telephone No 2152060). They are manned round the clock. Complaints can be lodged in these offices and also help can be obtained when needed.

Community Hall. There are two Community Halls. One is located near R/29 building after naval Police Station, in the New Navy Nagar and the other at Family Welfare Centre in old Navy Nagar. The Hall can be hired for the following functions:- Marriage ceremonies Ships Anniversary Party Cultural programme


VISHAKHAPATNAM

Family Accommodation Officer’s

There are two residential areas for Officers namely Naval Park and Amzari Park at a distance of 1/2km from naval base.

The following facilities are existing in these residential areas:-

Family Accommodations Sailors

There are two residential areas namely Nausena Baugh and Sri Vijay Nagar Colony(104 Area).

Nausena Baugh

The residential Area, Nausena Baugh, is located at a distance of 4 Km from Naval Base. The following facilities are existing in Nausena Baugh:-
    Extension Counter of CBI Administration Office Unit Run Canteen Extension Counter of Indian Naval Canteen Service Vegetable shops Health club Naval Police Station Shopping Complex
    Sports Ground Open Theatre Homeopath Doctor visiting every morning from 18:30 to 21:30 Hrs.
Sri Vijay Nagar Colony (104 Area)

The Vijay Nagar Colony is situated at a distance of 10 km from Naval Base and 4 km from Railway Station. The following are the facilities available in Vijay Nagar Colony: -

    Extension Counter of CBI Administration Office Unit Run Canteen, Vegetable shops, Health club and Naval Police Station

    Sports Ground Open Theatre

    MI Room

The family passes are made in the Administrative Offices in the respective residential Area.


GOA

Headquarters Goa Area has charged INS Gomantak and INS Hansa with the following administrative duties :-
  1. INS Hansa – Administration of NOFRA I/II
  2. INS Gomantak – Administration of Varunapuri

NOFRA I/II. Located on the Airport road is the residential area for Naval Officers. It is self contained and has a shopping Complex, Naval Police Station and INCS Canteen. All family passes are made by Regulating Officer of INS Hansa. MES has two complaint cells at NOFRA as follows :-

  1. B&R Cell in NOFRA I opens between 0800 hrs. To 1700 hrs. On all days except Sunday.
  2. E&M Cell is located at the power House next to the Naval Swimming Pool. It is open at all hours and accepts complaints on telephone also. Tele. Extn. 5133.

The shopping complex at NOFRA also has the Naval Gas Agency, INCS Canteen and Punjab National Bank extension counter. These are open as follows :-

  1. Naval Gas Agency
  2. INCS Canteen
  3. Punjab National Bank. Extension counter is open from 1130 hrs. To 1400 hrs. Monday to Friday and 1100hrs. to 1230 hrs. on Saturdays.

Police Station. The Naval Police Station at NOFRA is manned round the clock. Tele. No. 5114. The main gate Tele. No. Of NOFRA I is 5125. NOFRA II is 5126.

Subscription for NOFRA. The subscription for NOFRA is collected through the NOI club bill at the rate of Rs. 50/- per month.

Administration of Varunapuri. The administration of Varunapuri is carried out from the administrative office of Varunapuri that operates under an Officer-in-charge. This office looks after the over all administration of Varunapuri as a whole.

Waiting period for Government Married Accommodation. The waiting period for accommodation in the area for officers is as follows :-

HOLIDAY HOME

Officers. Four suites (One Air conditioned and Three non Air conditioner) are available at Naval Officers Institute Airport Road, Dabolim, Goa-403801. The suites can be booked by writing a letter to Staff Officer Administration, Headquarters Goa Naval Area, Vasco-da-Gama, Goa thirty days in advanced room and Rs. 150/- for non air conditioned room. Demand draft is to be made in favour of Holiday Home, Goa Account. The daily charges for each room are Rs. 130/- for air conditioned room and Rs. 70/- for non air conditioned room. These charges do not include messing.


KOLKATA

Single Accommodation - INS Netaji Subhash has adequate accommodation for in living sailors, but the problems of accommodation period (May-July) and Dec/Jan.

Married Accommodation

(i) Officers - Adequate married accommodation is available.
 

(ii) Sailors - Family accommodation for sailors is available at Teesta Bhagirathi and Fort William.
