PREVOCATIONAL GROUP

The Prevocational group focuses on achieving economic independence of the children. The are eight children in this group , are otherwise capable of looking after their personal requirements .At the age of 14 years ,the training of the child is commenced  in various aspects of a particular job , keeping in mind his / her interest  , ability and parental concerns. The goal of this age group is that at the age of 18 years , if the child has the potential , he / she should be able to seek and get gainful employment , whether independently or in a sheltered workshop set-up.

The children are being trained at Dockyard Apprentice School for Carpentry  , NWWA Shop as Shop Assistant , NWWA  Library / INS Circars Library ,as Library Assistant. They are also receiving training in peeling garlic  , shelling peas ,among their regular activities such as meal preparation , gardening , marketing , computer aided instruction.
