November is one of the busiest months of the academic year at Sankalp. This year it started with the Diwali celebrations on the 4th of November. Children dressed in colourful attire burst crackers and distributed sweets. 03 children were trained and taken for the painting competition, “Pratibimb” held by Fleet as a part of the Navy Week Celebrations and won 02 prizes. The winners were invited on board INS Jalashwa with their parents for a “Day at Sea” and to collect the prizes.

Sankalp celebrated its 4th Annual Integrated Sports Day on the 12th November. Mrs. Parvati Nambala was our Guest of Honour and Mrs Jayshree Fanthome was our Chief Guest. 10 Students from NCS participated in team events and it was a roaring success. The winners went home with medals around their necks. As always it was 100% participation and each and every child went home with a consolation prize.

As every year, the students and their families were treated to a movie at Samudrika on the occasion of Children’s Day. INS Virbahu gifted the school an Air Conditioner on the occasion. The students and staff were invited to INS Jalashwa for a day on the 19th of Nov where they interacted with children from other special schools. They presented a dance and two of the students won prizes in games conducted there.

Sankalp as every year put up a stall at the Navy Mela. We had the stall open on the 25th, 27th and the 29th of November for 3-4 hours in the evening. We had good sales and it built lots of awareness among the community as to the abilities of the students. Gift bags, hand made paper diaries, magazine holders, pen holders; key chains, earrings, necklaces, etc were some of the many items put up on sale. This year too we have 05 different designs of the Sankalp cards.
