Navy
Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) is an association of wives of the naval
personnel. It is a registered society and a voluntary organization engaged in
community welfare and development particularly with regard to the families.
Our canvas is wide and spans from home and children to jobs and careers Needless to
say that large funds and goodwill are required to support these activities. NWWA
generates its own funds from benevolent corporate bodies and citizens. Since
efficacy of any social welfare programmes depends on involvement and participation
of the community we invite you and other like-minded people to join our endeavours. You could contribute in any way in any of our
Programmes viz.
Special education centers for the disabled children, Adult literacy, Vocational
training, Widow rehabilitation, Crèches and play schools, Healthcare and hygiene,
Education, Environment protection, Outreach programs for the less privileged
etc. Some suggested ways in this regard are:
- Financial aid. Donations to NWWA are exempt from Income Tax
under section 80G of the IT Act 1961- Material support for NWWA Activities through Sponsoring events or specific
area of activity.
- Rehabilitation of naval widows - through jobs, vocational training,
educational Scholarships for them or their children.
- Support/Sponsorship for Special Education Centres or ‘special’ children
- Sponsoring Prizes for Competitions
- Suggestions to make programs more effective. So friends, make a resolution in this regard.
