The IGNOU-Navy Educational Project (INEP) came into force with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IGNOU and the Indian Navy on 23rd September 2000. The project has been envisaged to help naval personnel and their dependants to enhance their academic qualification though self-learning oriented system developed & executed by IGNOU. This Project brings the educational facilities closer to the place of work and residence, under a ‘Single Window System’. All Officers, Sailors and their dependents can enroll in this project. Dependents would be enrolled on submission of a ‘Dependency Certificate’. There are four Regional Centres functioning at New Delhi, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam and Kochi. At Delhi, DNE is the Regional Director and in Commands C Ed Os are the Regional Directors. One Study Centre each at NSBII Naraina(New Delhi), Navy Nagar(Mumbai), Navy Children School (Vizag) and at C Ed O(Kochi) respectively are functioning under respective Regional Centres.
