STATE/UT SPECIAL FUND FOR RECONSTRUCTION & REHABILITATION OF EX-SERVICEMEN
-NOMINATION OF EX-SERVICE OFFICERS TO MANAGING COMMITTEE

1. The fund has been set up for the benefit of ex-servicemen and their dependents. The fund is administered by the State/Union Terriority Managing Committee and two members of this Committee are nominated by the Chiefs of Staff Committee. The nominated members are ex-service officers residing in the State/UT concerned. Vacancies in the State of Delhi, A&N Islands, Bihar, HP, MP, Manipur, Mizoram, West Bengal and Chattisgarh are likely to arise w.e.f 01 Jan 07.

2. The tenure of nominated members is two years but they are eligible for re-nomination. The members are required to attend meetings of the Committee, held twice a year, to administer the fund. A member of the Managing Committee may also be nominated to the Executive Sub-Committee and may then have to attend quarterly meetings of the Sub-Committee.

3. Members of the Managing Committee or the Executive Sub-Committee are not entitled to any remuneration except travelling and other allowances for attending meetings.

4. Since the special fund is an important source of benefit to ex-service personnel, nomination of retired Naval Officers to the Committee would be beneficial. The list of recommended personnel will be forwarded by NHQ/DESA to PPOC Sectt. Final selection of members will there after be conducted by PPOC.

5. In view of the above, you are requested to take up this responsibility and forward a copy of your bio-data and willingness certificate for nomination by 13 Nov 06. However, if you are preoccupied, then you are requested to suggest a suitable retired officer's name and advice him to forward the bio-data along with willingness certificate for nomination by 13 Nov 06 to NHQ/DESA.
